Latest Blog not showing correctly

Hi,
I added the latest blog with the shortcode on my startpage, (see bottom of the page on the link given below)
It does not show the text correctly, I am guessing this is because of the html for the image and link at the start of this post.
SHould the shortcode not ignore html in the text? and only cut text excluding the html?
